Instructions
Preparation Steps
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente.
Meanwhile, prepare the pesto. In a food processor, combine basil, parmesan, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until combined.
With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until the mixture is smooth.
Once the pasta is done, reserve some pasta water, then drain. Toss the pasta with pesto, adding reserved water if needed for consistency.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra parmesan and black pepper if desired.
Notes
For a nutty flavor, you can add a handful of toasted pine nuts to the pesto. Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
